Welcome to Anglezarke class which is a mixed age class of Year 2 and Year 3. Here in Anglezarke class, we promote self confidence, happiness and enthusiasm. All children have a passion for learning and are eager to learn new things. We are inquisitive and enjoy deepening our knowledge and understanding of the world around us. We provide a learning environment where each and every member of the class can thrive.

Class Teachers: Miss Cassie Wharmby

HLTA: Miss Catherine Mansfield

1:1 Support Assistant: Mrs Jessica Clay

Throughout our class we promote and uphold our eight core values in all that we do.

Don't give up, try new things, respect others, concentrate, be motivated, improve, imagine and push yourself.
Anglezarke class understand that these are important skills and encourage each other to follow these on a daily basis.

PE - Thursday and Friday

Homework- Homework is sent out at the beginning of each half term. The homework consists of a grid of activities to cover our particular leading topics and includes elements across the whole curriculum. Your child must choose one task to complete each week and will be expected to bring these in the following Friday.

Spellings will also be sent home on a Friday in the form of a particular spelling pattern. The children are expected to explore words that use this particular pattern and will be tested on 10 words containing the pattern on the following Friday.

Reading- We believe that reading is an imperative part of all children's learning. During school, we provide them with a number of opportunities to experience a variety of texts and encourage a love of reading. We feel that this passion for reading should be promoted at home. Children are encouraged to read daily with an adult at home.

How you can help

Read with your child as often as possible.

Discuss their book, ask them questions about what they have read, pick out certain vocabulary, discuss the meaning of these words.

Share a range of other reading material, share a book where your child reads and you read to them.

Support your child with their homework, encouraging them to hand it in on time.

Play Number games and help them to learn their times tables.
